Kaizer Chiefs attacker Lebogang Manyama was involved in a car accident in Gauteng on Tuesday afternoon, but fortunately only escaped with minor bruises.
The former Absa Premiership Footballer of the Year was said to be travelling at an unnamed location in Gauteng on Tuesday, when his luxurious white BMW was involved in a collision.
Chiefs faithful can breathe a sigh of relief though, with Manyama escaping the wreckage with only minor bruises.
Media outlets throughput the country confirmed the incident and it remains to be seen whether Manyama will do duty in the Amakhosi’s Round of 16 Telkom Knockout clash against Black Leopards on Sunday.
The club released a statement on their official website to publicise details of the incident.
‘Kaizer Chiefs attacking midfielder Lebogang Manyama was involved in a car accident on Tuesday afternoon. The player was driving home from training when the incident took place.
‘He was rushed to hospital for examinations and x-rays. Doctors treated him for minor injuries to his knee and elbow and he has since been discharged.
‘Manyama will be assessed further by the doctors to determine the extent of the injuries and advise when he will be fit to train again,’ the statement on the club’s website read.
