Mamelodi Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi had stressed the importance of adding another piece of silverware to their trophy cabinet.

Sundowns saw the return of eight players return from international duty with Bafana Bafana, including Bathusi Aubaas, Aubrey Modiba, Tebeho Mokwena, Thapelo Morena, Khuliso Mudau, Mothobi Mvala, Iqraam Rayners and Ronwen Williams, while Peter Shalulile returned from duty with Nambia.

Following the conclusion of the international break, Sundowns are now set to face Magesi FC in the final of the Carling Knockout Cup on Saturday.

The Sundowns menter has now expressed his desire to win the trophy to add the club cabinet, which is already filled with many accolades.

“It will always be important for Sundowns to win every match, whether it is a cup final, league match or friendly,” Mngqithi told the media

“It is just important to make sure we win it. We have enough quality to ensure we win almost every fixture that we play.”

Mamelodi Sundowns vs Magesi FC kicks off at 6pm on Saturday.
