SuperSport United confirmed on Wednesday evening that the contract of midfielder Teboho Mokoena has been extended.
The 23-year-old has since pledged his loyalty to the club by signing a new three-and-a-half-year deal with Matsatsantsa, ending rumours linking him to Mamelodi Sundowns.
Mokoena has already established himself as one of the best young players in the Premier Soccer League (PSL). He has featured 106 times in the top flight, scoring seven goals and assisting a further 13 across all competitions since his debut in 2016.
The club also announced an ‘Olympic buy-out’ clause in his contract, which enables Mokoena to secure a permanent move abroad after the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Matsatsantsa have released the following statement:
‘SuperSport United is pleased to announce that Teboho Mokoena has signed a three-and-a-half-year extension which will see him represent Matsatsantsa until 2023.
‘Keep playing with heart and for the badge Teboho Mokoena.’
