Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena has revealed that Bongani Zungu and Mosa Lebusa will miss their CAF Champions League quarter-final return leg clash against Young Africans on Friday evening.

The Brazilians will be looking to seal the deal at Loftus Versfeld Stadium after they played out to a goalless draw in the first leg at at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Zungu was forced to leave the pitch after just 13 minutes after picking up an injury during the first leg, he was subsequently replaced by Aubrey Modiba.

Lebusa, meanwhile, last 70 minutes on the field before being replaced by Sphelele Mkhulise after sustaining an injury.

Mokwena has since revealed that Zungu has been ruled out with a hernia although no time has been given on how long he’ll be out for, while Lebusa is out for at least four weeks.

“He’s (Zungu) got a hernia but it’s a little bit upper and towards the side, something he’s been struggling a little bit with,” said Mokwena.

“And the prognosis is that he’ll be out for four weeks, him and Mosa Lebusa which is a big blow for us. But fortunately, we’re getting Mothobi [Mvala] back at a very important time.”

The Sundowns tactician has also revealed that the likes of Rushine De Reuck and Brian Onyango are slowly being eased back into the team, while he remains hopeful of Abdelmounaim Boutouil’s return.

“We’re getting Rushine [De Reuck] back, he was on the bench [in a match against Richards Bay FC]. Brian Onyango is always reliable and ready,” he added.

“So, we’re okay and how good was [Bathusi] Aubaas in that position today. He was amazing. So, we should be okay.

“Hopefully we can get AB [Abdelmounaim Boutouil] back because he gives us a lot of options at centre-back, left centre-back, left-back, inverted left-back and third midfielder.

“So, the numbers are getting there and AB should be back but I think Bongs and Mosa probably [they won’t be available] in the next four weeks.

“And maybe towards the end of the season, the last couple of weeks, they will be back.”
