Premier Soccer League chairman Irvin Khoza has announced that this season’s Nedbank Cup final will be held at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
The chairman made the announcement on Tuesday at a press conference at the PSL’s head offices where he revealed that the league had attempted to take the final to Bloemfontein, but ‘matters out of their control’ prevented the ground from hosting the final.
The Moses Mabhida Stadium has become somewhat of a home for Cup finals in the country, with both this season’s MTN8 final and last season’s Nedbank Cup final having been hosted in Durban.

Khoza admitted at the press conference that the league attempted to take into consideration both the sponsors’ commercial requirements and expectations, as well as the wants and needs of the fans.
‘The executive commitee has thoroughly debated the venue for the Nedbank Cup final, and the venue preferred by the sponsor was Bloemfontein. We could not secure the venue. The final will be held at Moses Mabhida on 18 May,’ said Khoza at the PSL offices on Tuesday.
The chairman also revealed that the PSL end of season awards will be held at the Durban Convention Centre the following day.
