Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi wants his side to build from their performance against Chippa United heading into their next match.

The Glamour Boys returned to winning ways in the Betway Premiership after their 1-0 win over the Chilli Boys thanks to a 45th minute goal by Mduduzi Shabalala at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Sunday.

Amakhosi dropped down to seventh place on the table with 15 points after 10 games, despite walking away with all three points in Durban.

The Soweto giant will now take on Cape Town City in the Betway Premiership when the two sides meet at the DHL Stadium on January 5.

“We needed to start on the front foot, I would say the first half was good, not very good but was good,” Nabi told SuperSport TV after the game.

“The only issue is after we scored the first goal, second-half we played with fear.

“And when you play with fear, you play with the handbrake, you don’t go forward, you don’t go back but it’s understandable, it’s psychological, because the last results were not positive and the players wanted much to get the three points.

“But sometimes they felt like not going forward, just to sit back and defend but after these three points we’re confident that we can build from this.”
