Newcastle United ended their 56-year trophy drought after securing a victory over Liverpool in the League Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday evening.
Dan Burn opened the scoring for the Magpies in the 48th minute before Alexander Isak doubled their lead in the 58th minute.
Federico Chiesa managed to pull a goal back in deep into stoppage time but it wasn’t enough as Newcastle held on for the win to secure their first piece of silverware since 1969.
