Orlando Pirates are set to face La Liga outfit Sevilla FC in a pre-season friendly match in Spain in July.
The Buccaneers will take on the Spanish side behind closed doors, which is set to be played at the Jesús Navas Stadium on Wednesday, July 15.
Sevilla have since released the following statement on the matter, which reads:
“Ahead of the first team’s return to training on Monday 6 July, with medical tests taking place on the previous two days, Sevilla FC have confirmed the first three friendlies to take place this summer.
“The first stage of pre-season will take place at the training ground, the Ciudad Deportiva José Ramón Cisneros Palacios, with the team taking advantage of the new residence and exclusive first-team facilties. During this time, there will be three friendlies.
“First up is the South African side Orlando Pirates, who will visit the Jesús Navas Stadium for a behind closed doors fixture on Wednesday 15 July.
“The team will then travel to Faro to face Portuguese champions Sporting CP at the Estadio Algarve on Tuesday 23 July, three days before the visit of Al-Ittihad for the 13th edition of the Antonio Puerta Trophy.
“In the coming days, the club will announce details of a pre-season tour abroad and other friendlies outside of Spain.”
