Milutin Sredojevic has acknowledged that Orlando Pirates have made huge strides in progress since his arrival at the club.

Micho as the Serbian tactician is known took over from Kjell Jonevret at the start of the 2017/18 PSL campaign on the back of the club’s worst-ever finish (eleventh spot) in the Premier Soccer eague history.

In his first season back at Mayfair, Sredojevic managed to completely transorm Pirates’ fortunes around turning them from relegation candidates to title-contenders as they finished as runners-up in his first season back at the club.

‘Pirates were mocked everywhere. It was a joke, but when I got here in my first season, I wanted to bring back smiles to the faces of the fans and restore the dignity of the club,’ Sredjojevic told the media.

‘I have done that. I am proud of my players, but the derby victory is now in the past. We have to prepare for the cup game against AmaZulu,’ he added.

After their victory against arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the Soweto derby, the former Uganda national team coach  has encouraged his team not to get carried away.

‘We have no right to get carried away. We want to focus on each match as it comes.

‘We will fight for everything on offer as it’s proper for a big club, but we don’t want to commit ourselves to winning this or that title,” Micho said.

‘Let’s see at the end of the season where we finish – for now we don’t want to talk too much about our targets,’ he concluded.

Pirates will do duty against AmaZulu in their Telkom Knockout Cup quarter-final competition at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday evening eith kickoff set for 6pm.
