The Premier Soccer League have found Mamelodi Sundowns and Gaston Sirino guilty of assaulting SuperSport United duo Clayton Daniels and Dean Furman.
PSL charged Sundowns and Sirino for bringing the game into disrepute for an incident where the playmaker allegedly slapped Furman and Daniels.
This is regarding an incident that occurred during SuperSport’s 2-0 victory over Sundowns in the MTN8 semi-final at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on 18 September.
The 28-year-old was only booked for the incident and he played the entire match against SuperSport.
However, the league has since found Sirino and Sundowns guilty for bringing the game into disrepute, although sanctions are yet to be finalised.
The Premier Soccer League released the following statement on the matter, which reads as follows:
The Premier Soccer League (PSL) Disciplinary Committee has found Mamelodi Sundowns player Gaston Sirino guilty of assaulting SuperSport United players Clayton Daniels and Dean Furman during the MTN fixture on 18 September 2019.
The matter had been postponed a few times after requests from both Sirino and Mamelodi Sundowns.
Mamelodi Sundowns FC have similarly been found guilty of bringing the League into disrepute.
Sanctions will be finalised after submission of representations by the parties.
