Cape Town City secured their first win of the season following their victory over Kaizer Chiefs, while Swallows FC returned to winning ways with a win against Sekhukhune United in midweek action of the DStv Premiership.

Cape Town City FC 2-0 Kaizer Chiefs

Cape Town City ended their five match winless run in the DStv Premiership following their 2-0 victory over Kaizer Chiefs at the DHL Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Darwin Gonzalez opened the scoring in the fifth minute for his second goal of the campaign before Nathan Fasika opened his account for City with a 62nd goal to hand the Citizens their first win and all three points at home.

The win takes Cape Town City up to 12th place on the table with five points after six games, while Kaizer Chiefs’defeat saw them drop down to 10th place in the league standings with six points after five matches.

Swallows FC 2-1 Sekhukhune United

Swallows FC came from a goal down to fight back and secure a 2-1 victory over Sekhukhune United at the Dobsonville Stadium in the DStv Premiership on Tuesday evening.

Victor Letsoalo gave Sekhukhune the lead in the 27th minute but the Dube Birds fought back as Musonda Mwape completed his brace to complete the comeback to secure all three points for his side.

The win saw Swallows move up to sixth place in the league standings with seven points from five matches, while Sekhukhune’s defeat sees them fall down to 11th place on the log with five points from five matches.
