Recap: Chiefs return to winning ways, AmaZulu beat Gallants

Kaizer Chiefs returned to winning ways against Stellenbosch FC, while AmaZulu beat Marumo Gallants in Friday’s Betway Premiership action.

Kaizer Chiefs bounced back and returned to winning ways when they beat Stellenbosch FC 1-0 thanks to a fourth minute goal by Makabi Lilepo at Athlone Stadium.

The win sees Amakhosi remain in fourth place in the standings with 25 from 17 matches, having won seven games, drawn four and conceded six defeats.

Despite the defeat, Stellies have moved up to eighth place on the log with 20 from 14 matches after they won and drew five games apiece while conceding four defeats.

AmaZulu returned to winning ways after they secured a 2-0 victory over Marumo Gallants through goals from Rowan Human and Wayde Jooste at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

The win takes Usuthu up to sixth place on the log with 23 from 17 matches after claiming seven wins, two draws and eight defeats.

Gallants remain in 13th position on the table with 15 points from 16 games, having won four matches, drawn four and suffered nine defeats.
