Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca have announced the appointment of Rulani Mokwena as their new head coach.

The 37-year-old parted ways with Mamelodi Sundowns after a alleged fallout with the club’s technical director Flemming Berg.

Mokwena leaves the club after guiding them to their record-extending seventh successive league title and his fourth league title at the club.

Mokwena now joins the Moroccan giants, who have won 22 Botola Pro titles, nine Moroccan Throne Cup trophies, three CAF Champions League titles, a CAF Super Cup and African Cup Winners’ Cup, while claiming 19 other pieces of silverware.

“Welcome aboard coach Rulani Mokwena! Read to lead us to victory,” Wydad announced on X.
