Mamelodi Sundowns extended their winning run to 11 matches in the DStv Premiership after claiming a 1-0 win over Tshwane rivals SuperSport United at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.

The Brazilians, who are on the hunt for a record-extending sixth successive league title, continued their winning run in the league, having last lost a league game back in September when they fell to a 2-1 defeat against SuperSport at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Neo Maema’s 43rd minute goals proved the difference in the game after he fired the ball past Zimbabwean goalkeeper George Chigova after he was played in on goal by Cassius Mailula.

The victory sees Sundowns extend their lead at the top of the table to 14 points over second placed Richards Bay, while SuperSport remain in third place with 27 points after 16 matches.
