Mamelodi Sundowns star Themba Zwane says he is not disappointed in his omission from the Bafana Bafana squad as he respects head coach Hugo Broos’ decision.
The 32-year-old has scored four goals and racked up 28 caps for the South African national team, last featuring for them in 2020 against Sao Tome and Principe.
Zwane was a regular in the national team set-up under coach Molefi Ntseki but, following the arrival of Broos, the Sundowns star has found it hard to make it into the Bafana squad.
The Tembisa-born attacker insists that he has no hard feelings about being omitted from the team and will continue to support the team as they take on Guinea in Belgium on Friday and world champions France in Lille four days later.
“I am not disappointed at all. I am a professional player. What I can say is that I respect the coach’s decision,” Zwane told media at Sundowns.
“I support the guys all the way. I have not yet spoken to the coach. And I don’t have anything against him as well.
“As a player, I’ll keep on pushing, hoping that my chance will come. If not, I’ll still keep on pushing. There are things that I still want to achieve personally, with the team.
“So, I have to push myself and try to improve in every game.”
