AmaZulu have confirmed that Brandon Truter will take over as their new head coach on an interim basis following the departure of coach Benni McCarthy on Friday.
Truter succeeds McCarthy, who parted ways with the club, leaving them in ninth place on 29 points in the DStv Premiership standings with five wins, 14 draws and four defeats from 23 matches.
Truter, who has been out of job since he left Swallows FC in November, has taken over the head coach role on an interim basis with immediate effect.
Despite McCarthy’s departure, his backroom staff of Vasili Manousakis, Moeneeb Josephs and Siyabonga Nomvethe will remain for the rest of the season.
“AmaZulu FC is pleased to announce the appointment of Brandon Truter as interim head coach with immediate effect until the end of the current 2021/2022 season,” a club statement read.
“We look forward to competing in the league for the remaining seven games. The search for the head coach to lead the team beyond this season has commenced and should be finalised before the end of April.”
