Violence erupted at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Tuesday after Esperance and Mamelodi Sundowns fans broke out and fought during the CAF Champions League quarter-final clash.
The Brazilians came out 1-0 winners over Esperance thanks to a goal from Peter Shalulile in the first-leg in Pretoria.
However, Esperance fans began to fight, targeting the Sundowns supporters after the final whistle, damaging property in the process.
As a result, many supporters suffered injuries, with medical doctors attending to those injured.
Police and security officials had to break up the fight and let the Esperance supporters wait on the field while they waited to be escorted out of the venue, as they feared that the Sundowns fans would retaliate against them.
