Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has named Mamelodi Sundowns star Themba Zwane as part of his 23-man squad to face Sierra Leone and Botswana in international friendlies later this month.
Broos’ squad will face off against Sierra Leone on 24 September and Botswana on 27 September. Both games are set to begin at 3pm at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
After a 1-2 defeat by Morocco in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying Group K match in June, and a 0-5 defeat by world champions France in a friendly international at Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Lille in March, the Belgium coach hopes the South African senior national team can return to winning ways.
“We start again and it is an opportunity to try and win games,” Broos told Safa.
