Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane says it’s “never nice” heading into the Soweto derby against Orlando Pirates off the back of a loss in the DStv Premiership.

The Glamour Boys will come into this mouth-watering fixture off the back of a thrilling 3-2 defeat to Golden Arrows as they look to bounce back and return to winning ways.

Pirates, meanwhile, come into this match high in confidence after claiming a 2-1 victory over Maritzburg United through goals by Monnapule Saleng and Terrence Dzvukamanja this past weekend.

Amakhosi currently occupies fifth place in the league standings with 28 points after 20 games, while Pirates are placed third on the log with 31 points from 20 matches.

“We gave the game away. Look at the number of chances we created and look at how we conceded the goals,” Zwane told his club’s official website.

“We were flat. We played in patches, but whenever we managed to beat the first line of confrontation and went forward, we looked dangerous.

“But we did not take our chances and we could have defended better. We created enough chances to win this game but I can’t fault the performance of the boys.”

“Look, it is never nice to go into this type of game after a loss like this one, where you know you could have done better, but we are encouraged by knowing we can play better.”
