Bafana Bafana star Kamohelo Mokotjo believes that he is ready to make an impact for the national team and that it is time to shine, writes DEAN WORKMAN.

Mokotjo, who ply’s his trade in the English Championship with promotion chasers Brentford, has made eleven appearances for Bafana.

The midfielder impressed in his time in Europe with Dutch clubs FC Twente and Feyenoord Rotterdam, before moving to England in 2017. He now has his eyes set on becoming a regular at Brentford while he is also hoping to make an impact for Bafana.

Speaking at a press conference in the build-up to the Afcon qualifier double-header against Seychelles, Mokotjo insisted that he does not feel he has struggled for Bafana.

‘When it comes to the national team, I don’t see it as a struggle. I just think my time will come.

‘When that time comes I have to be ready, and I am already ready.

‘I just have to keep asking the gaffer [Stuart Baxter] questions, I have to keep knocking and I feel that I am doing that.

‘I think my mentality is my strongest attribute. Of course, there are things in my game that I can improve on but I prefer to start on dealing with the issues that are in my mind and focussing on the football pitch,’ concluded Mokotjo.
