Egypt Football Association president Hani Abu Reidah has taken little time to react to the shock loss to Bafana Bafana by sacking coach Javier Aguirre before then stepping down from his role with immediate effect.
The Pharos were overwhelming favourites heading into the last-16 clash with the South Africans on home soil, but a late Thembinkhosi Lorch goal handed Bafana a shock 1-0 win sending the hosts crashing out in front of 75 000 fans.
The loss looks to have rocked Egyptian football to the core as just hours after the loss Efa president Reidah announced his resignation via their twitter account.
