Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Jayden Adams has opened up after making his debut in the Betway Premiership for Masandawana.

The Brazilians continue their fine form in the Betway Premiership following their 4-0 win over Golden Arrows at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday.

Adams made his debut in the league and played the final 22 minutes of the game when he came off the bench to replace Iqraam Rayners.

The 23-year-old, who joined Sundowns from Stellenbosch FC on a three-year contract during the January transfer window, believes once his side grabbed their second goal, the match was over and beyond Arrows’ grasp.

“It’s a great honour for me to play my second game, my first league game,” Adams said. “I just want to thank the coach for believing in me, the staff and everyone who believed in me.

“I think for me I need to adapt quickly, have high intensity, and have more ball possession because we have the ball a lot, counter-press so you need to be fit, and we work on it every week.”

“I think for me, when we scored the first goal, I think they came out and pressed us and after we scored the second goal, I think the game was finished so we came out and controlled the game.”
