Kaizer Chiefs forward Wandile Duba is confident that Amakhosi will end their trophy drought by winning silverware this season.
The Glamour Boys have not won a trophy since claiming the league title during the 2014-15 season under then-coach Stuart Baxter.
Amakhosi already missed out on competing in the MTN8 this campaign after finishing 10th in the league last season.
However, Chiefs have a chance to win their first people silverware as they opened their Carling Knockout Cup campaign against SuperSport United.
Duba is confident that his side can compete for silverware on all fronts under the guidance of head coach Nasreddine Nabi.
“For sure, we’ll win a trophy this season. We are not only looking to win cup competitions. We also want to win the league as well because our ultimate goal is to win all the trophies that we compete for,” Duba told the media in Naturena.
“Coach Nabi is different [to the previous Chiefs coaches] because he only wants wins and a good mentality. Coach Nabi is also accessible because you can just go to him and ask how he wants certain things to be done, and he’ll explain it to you.
“I think our mentality as guys, including mine, has changed. I’m willing to work more now. Not that I wasn’t working hard before, but the new coach believes in players who put in more effort.”
