Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Lebohang Maboe says he is expecting a “big fight” when they welcome Royal AM to Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Wednesday evening.
The 30-year-old has made four appearances across all competitions for the Tshwane giants so far this season.
The Brazilian come into this game in second in the Betway Premiership standings with nine points from three matches.
Maboe says he will not underestimate Royal AM as they look to claim three points and reclaim their place at the top of the league standings.
“I am expecting a big fight. I think they are a team that has not been doing quite well in their previous games and we already know that any team that plays against us is always willing to even shed blood,” Maboe told his club’s official website
“They are not a team that looks to play a lot from the back. They play a lot from second balls and if we can manage the second balls, I think we have got a greater chance at winning the game.
“We’ve got a very great squad and players that can break down any defence on any given day. Playing for Mamelodi Sundowns puts a big responsibility to put smiles on our supporters.
“It’s also important for us to put the team in a good position to win the game. it’s our home game, so it’s very important for us to win the game and collect the three points,” he said.
“They must come in numbers to come and support us. we are looking forward to having them over and making them happy with positive results,” he concluded.
