Mamelodi Sundowns exact their revenge on Magesi FC after claiming a 2-1 victory at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Dikwena tša Meetse opened the scoring as early as the 12th minute thanks to a goal by Wonderboy Makhubu but Sundowns drew level in the 64th minute through Lucas Ribeiro Costa.

However, Sundowns completed their comeback when Tashreeq Matthews scored the winning goal four minutes from the final whistle to snatch all three points.

The Tshwane giants have now opened a six point lead over second placed Orlando Pirates with 33 points, while Magesi FC remain at the foot of the table with seven points from 13 matches.

Sundowns will now turn their attention to the Nedbank Cup when they welcome Sibanye Golden Stars in the round of 32 at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday evening.

Meanwhile, Magesi are set to play host to SuperSport United in the Nedbank Cup last 32 when the two sides meet at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday evening.
