Mamelodi Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi felt his side should have scored more than four goals in their victory over Marumo Gallants in their Betway Premiership.

The Brazilians claimed their second consecutive victory in the Betway Premiership following their 4-1 win over Gallants at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.

Goals from Tashreeq Matthews, Iqraam Rayners, Lucas Ribeiro Costa and Sphelele Mkhulise saw Sundowns walk away with all three points while Gabadinho Mhango scored a late consolation goal for Gallants.

Sundowns currently occupies first place in the league, level on six points with Orlando Pirates, Golden Arrows, Kaizer Chiefs and Polokwane City.

“We scored four but I feel hard done by because I think we should have scored more than four, we messed around. Marcelo [Allende] had two big chances, Peter was unfortunate, we created quite a lot of situations that could have resulted [into goals],” Mngqithi told SuperSport TV after the game.

“But overall I’m happy because my wish is to try to create as many chances as possible and to play according to the situation.

“If we have to build-up slowly we build-up slowly but if we have to faster, we’re faster to create openings and I think the boys are responding.

“I was not happy at all with the last 20 minutes of the game but sometimes when you make so many changes it is bound to happen but I was not happy with how we exerted ourselves in the last ten [minutes].

“The goal we conceded makes me feel like we’ve lost the match, you know,” he concluded.
