Orlando Pirates got the better of Mamelodi Sundowns after claiming a victory in a top-of-the-table clash in the Betway Premiership at the FNB Stadium on Sunday.

The Buccaneers secured a 2-1 victory over the Brazilians after an early brace from Relebohile Mofokeng but Sundowns did manage to pull a goal back just after the hour mark through Khuliso Mudau but it wasn’t enough as Pirates held on for the win.

Pirates have now closed the gap on Sundowns to 15 points and remain in second place with 43 points after 19 games, while Sundowns remain at the summit of the log with 58 points from 23 matches.
