Mamelodi Sundowns forward Iqraam Rayners says he is expecting a tough showing against his former club Stellenbosch FC.
The Brazilians are set to face off against Stellies when the two sides meet at the DHL Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Sundowns and Stellies have already met twice this season, with the Tshwane giants coming out on top in both fixtures.
The 28-year-old has been in some form for Sundowns, having scored 11 goals and grabbed one assists in 15 appearances across all competitions.
Rayners is wary of the threat Stellies possess and has urged his side not to underestimate their opponents as they look to bunch away from second placed Orlando Pirates.
“I know it’s going to be a tough one against Stellenbosch FC, but we will keep working and pushing each other on and off the field.
“For us, it’s all about winning the game on Wednesday, and it is possible with the kind of support we have been receiving from the coaches and the technical team.
“I think Stellenbosch will come into this game confident. They are coming from Angola with a win.
“So, it’s going to be a good opportunity for both teams to get the three points, but most importantly for us, it is to focus on ourselves and ensure we get it right.
“To all the Mamelodi Sundowns supporters, please come to Cape Town in numbers to support us. Be behind the team, and we will ensure that we make you happy by getting the three points,” he concluded.
