Mamelodi Sundowns opened a nine-point gap in the Betway Premiership following their 4-1 victory over Orlando Pirates at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.

A brace by Lucas Ribeiro Costa and goals from Grant Kekana and Teboho Mokoena cancelled out a goal from Deon Hotto to hand the Brazilians all three points.

The win sees Sundowns open a nine-point lead at the top of the league standings over the Buccaneers, who currently sit in second place on the table.
