PUMA and Borussia Dortmund are presenting the new home jersey for the upcoming season under the slogan ‘Pure Emotion’.
BVB and its fan base are characterised by passion, willpower, enthusiasm and the joy of the game. The new home jersey, designed for BVB by PUMA, pays tribute to these sentiments and will bring the club and its fans even closer together.
In a joint campaign staged a few days before the jersey’s launch, BVB and PUMA called on fans worldwide to send their individual messages of motivation to the team. At the premiere of the new kit on the last Bundesliga match day of the current season against Werder Bremen, the players will wear the fan message they liked best as personal motivation. At the cup final in Berlin – the most important last game of the season – the chosen fan messages will also be printed on the new kits, and thus accompany the players on the field.
The new home jersey remains classic yellow. Horizontal stripes with a vibrant colour gradient from black to yellow provide visual highlights. The new design also incorporates the PUMA Formstrip and carries the colour gradient concept into the shoulder area. The design is topped off with a contrasting black ribbed collar.
The embroidered BVB emblem, an embroidered PUMA cat logo, as well as the jersey sponsor Evonik adorn the front, while the classic ‘DORTMUND’ lettering is emblazoned on the back.
The team is also optimally equipped for the new season in terms of functionality: A high-quality, specially developed polyester material ensures comfort. During play, PUMA’s dryCELL technology draws moisture out of the garment and affords optimal breathability.
Dynamic attacking midfielder and crowd favourite Marco Reus on the new jersey: ‘I like the new design that PUMA has developed. The horizontal stripes with the colour gradient are really cool. We want to celebrate a terrific end of the season with the new jersey, and then we want to attack in all competitions and celebrate great successes in the new season.’
