Bidvest Wits CEO Jose Ferreira has confirmed the club’s dates and venues for their Caf Champions League clash against Egyptian giants Al Ahly.
The Clever Boys advanced to the second round of the Caf Champions League after defeating Saint Louisienne 4-3 on aggregate in their two-legged tie.
The Students are now set to take on eight-time Caf Champions League winners Al Ahly in the next round of the tournament in a home and away leg encounter.
The Red Devils will welcome Gavin Hunt’s side to the Al Salam Stadium in Cairo, Egypt on Saturday with kick-off set for 18:30.
The club’s CEO sent his best wishes to the Clever Boys on their travel to Egypt in the hopes of coming home with a positive result against Al Ahly.
‘We wish the players and the technical team a safe journey as they depart for Egypt today,’ Ferreira told the Bidvest Wits website.
Wits are currently placed first in the Absa Premiership with 38 points and have won 10 out of 19 matches played so far this season.
Meanwhile, Al Ahly have been in fine form in the Egyptian Premier League, having won four of their last five matches, and currently occupy first place with 52 points, seven points clear of second-placed Misr Lel Makasa.
Bidvest Wits will now travel to the Al Salam Stadium when they take on Al Ahly in the second round of the Caf Champions League encounter on Saturday.
Kick-off has been set for 15:30.
