Mamelodi Sundowns have qualified for the Caf Champions League quarter-finals after they beat Al Ahly 1-0 in a Group A clash at the FNB Stadium after Peter Shalulile scored the only goal of the match.

The sees Sundowns remain at the top of Group A with 10 points from four games, the Red Eagles are six points behind the current leaders in second place with four points.

AmaZulu missed out on the chance to go top of their Group B in the Caf Champions League after they suffered a 2-0 defeat to ES Setif at Stade du 5 Juillet 1962.

Goal from Riad Benayad and Akram Djahnit saw Usuthu drop to third place in Group B, while the Black Eagles climbed up to second place – level on six points with Benni McCarthy’s side.
