An early goal from Themba Zwane fired Mamelodi Sundowns to a 1-0 win over Al Hilal in their Caf Champions League group-stage clash at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Friday night.

Zwane put his side into the lead in the eighth minute after he latched on to a poor back pass before calmly firing his shot past the outrushing keeper into the bottom corner.

The Brazilians looked to add a second through Thapelo Morena and Lyle Lakay but as the game went on they pushed further and further back.

They, however, managed to hold on for the victory despite a couple of late scares from set pieces.
