Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Tiyani Mabunda has played down talk that his side are starting to show signs of fatigue ahead of their Caf Champions League final encounter.

Pitso Mosimane’s men recently suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hand of Bidvest Wits in the MTN8 finals, will now face Zamalek in the first leg of the African tournament at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on October 15.

However, the 28-year-old believes the team’s busy fixture schedule has not affected their performance, declaring that Sundowns can handle the workload.

‘I don’t think it affected us against Wits,’ Mabunda told KickOff.com.

‘We played well but failed to convert the chances we had.

‘I don’t think playing many games has started to affect us. We are Mamelodi Sundowns, we are footballers, this is our job. I believe we have the right technical team and trainers to deal with the workload that we have to go through.’

Mabunda says his side are focused and ready for their upcoming challenge against the White Knight.

‘We are ready to go through this challenge. We put ourselves in this situation which shows we are professionals. Every game we play, we will give our all,’ he added.

‘Now we have to just dust ourselves off and move on. Our focus now is on the Champions League. We have a big final, we need to focus on it and get ready.’

Sundowns will host Zamalek at Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville on October 15.
