Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Teboho Mokoena says his side are “going back to the drawing board” following their draw against Young Africans in the CAF Champions League quarter-finals first leg.
The Brazilians were forced to share the spoils with the Tanzanian outfit after playing out to a goalless draw at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Sundowns and Wananchi will have it all to play for when the two sides meet at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in the quarter-final second on Friday, April 5.
Mokoena admits that the Tanzanian side restricted them from their normal style of play as they at least wanted an away goal heading into the return leg.
“We didn’t start well first-half but second half the direction was good; we didn’t create more chances like we usually do and it was really a tough game,” Mokoena told Sundowns TV.
“They were very solid at the back, they closed the space in the middle, they forced us to play on the sides, which is something we don’t normally do.
“I think their game plan worked really well today, I think we must go back to South Africa and go back to the drawing board and improve on our performance.
“It was really really hard today but what do you expect it’s an away game, it is expected that not everything will favour us.
“We wanted to get an away goal but we didn’t so we must sort it out in South Africa. We have to win in South Africa.
