Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena says his side have proven themselves to be one of the best teams on the continent.
The Brazilians will take on TP Mazembe in their final Caf Champions League group stage at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday.
The Tshwane giants currently sit at the summit of Group A, level on 10 points with their next opponents after five matches.
Sundowns come into this fixture high in confidence after their comfortable 3-0 victory over AmaZulu in the DStv Premiership thanks to a hat-trick from Lucas Ribeiro Costa.
Mokwena is confident with his side’s form this season they can win their first Champions League title since 2016.
“It’s going to take a lot of consistency, a lot of hard work and a lot of luck,” Mokwena told his club’s official website.
“In these kind of competitions that are high level, there’s not much of a difference between the teams participating, so you need a little bit of luck. You need to be brave and show courage.
“Sundowns have proven that they are one of the best team on the continent and eventually we will win the Champions League. What we have to do is make sure our performances are good enough and we are consistent.
“We will work hard every single day to put ourselves in that position,” he concluded.
Mamelodi Sundowns will host TP Mazembe in the CAF Champions League return fixture on Saturday afternoon at the Lucas Moripe Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 15H00.
