Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has been impressed by Phakamani Mahlambi’s growth in the squad since making the move from Egyptian giants Al Ahly.
The Tshwane giants forked out R13,2-million for the talented South African forward’s services on PSL transfer window deadline day.
The Brazilians were without a number of key players for their goalless draw against Al-Ahli Benghazi in their Caf Champions League clash, including the likes of Denis Onyango And Themba Zwane, who are currently nursing their way back to full fitness after sustaining respective injuries.
However, they now have a chance to redeem themselves when they welcome the same opponents to the Lucas Moripe Stadium for the return leg on Saturday.
Mosimane admits that Mahlambi was one of the standout performers in the first leg, while reserving special praise for frontman Brockie.
‘I am happy with Phaka [Mahlamabi], which is good. He is coming up, and JB [Jeremy Brockie] is doing well and he is helping him,’ Mosimane told the media.
Mamelodi Sundowns against Al-Ahli Bengazi kicks off at 3pm.
