Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane says they are ready to face Sudan outfit Al Hilal in their opening Caf Champions League Group A encounter at the Al-Hilal Stadium on Friday evening.
The Red Devils will be hoping to kick start their group stage campaign with a win when they travel to the Sudan giants in Omdurman.
Mosimane’s side will go into this encounter high in confidence after they clinched their second consecutive bronze medal at the Fifa Club World Cup while breaking numerous records along the way.
“We are focused on the game. We are keen to achieve a positive result against Al Hilal on Friday. We are a big team and we aim to win the title,” Mosimane told his club’s official website.
“We are ready for Al Hilal’s game. It will be a tough game, as it will be our first game in the group stage. In this stage, all the teams have equal chances to qualify for the next round. Also, we will be playing away from our home, so we expect tomorrow’s match to be a tough one.”
“We are ready to play in any circumstances and at any temperature. Last year, we managed to defeat AS Vita Club, despite playing in a very high temperature. We are a big team and we do not get affected by any circumstances.”
“Al Ahly is a big club and we managed to achieve many impressive records. We defeated Monterrey of Mexico in the FIFA Club World Cup (FCWC) and then we won our second consecutive FCWC bronze medal.”
