Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane wants his side to claim maximum points against Wydad Casablanca, even though they have already qualified for the Caf Champions League quarter-final.
The Brazilians have already booked their place in the next round of the continental competition after claiming a comfortable 3-0 victory over Lobi Stars at Loftus Versfeld Stadium last weekend.
Sundowns currently sit at the summit of Group A with 10 points after five games as they prepare for their final group stage game against Wydad at the Stade Mohammed V in Morocco on Saturday.
‘The last match against Wydad is an important match because you must understand that it’s three points between us [and them] so we don’t want to lose at Wydad,’ Mosimane told the media.
‘We must try to keep on top of the log and avoid to mix up with the big boys in the left pool. I am not saying the other teams coming second on the other side are not good, because in Champions League everybody can beat anybody.
‘[But] the result of Wydad [is important], I told you that the pitch is difficult to play on.’
Mamelodi Sundowns against Wydad Casablanca kicks off at 6pm.
