Sundowns will have to beat Horoya if they wish to progress to the next round of the competitions, but Mosimane remains hopeful of his side’s chances to qualify for the knockout stages, declaring he has enough depth in his squad to overcome Horoya.
‘Can we beat Horoya? Yes,’ Mosimane said. ‘It won’t be easy. Do I have the team to beat Horoya? Yes. We are playing in Pretoria, a goal is always there, it’s coming – at 20 minutes, it’s there. It might not be 20 minutes as I say, but in the end, we have to win hey? When we played that Togo team [AS Togo Port] it was a win at all costs – if we lost we were out… but I think you know what the score was at half-time [2-0]. We have to do what we have to do… it’s not easy, but we have to survive.’

The 58-year-old admits that the Caf Champions League is their number one priority while also adding that Sundowns’ participation in the continental tournament is not just about the club but a national agenda.
‘There’s a South African flag flying at those games above me when I’m on the touchline,’ he added.
‘There’s four flags at those games: Caf, Fifa, Morocco [vs Wydad Casablanca] and South Africa. Is there a flag flying here? We have to help Bafana Bafana qualify for the World Cup and the Cup of Nations.’
