Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane believes his side can overturn the deficit against Al Ahly to progress to the next round of the Caf Champions League.
The Brazilians suffered a 2-0 defeat by the Egyptian giants in the first leg of the quarter-finals at the Cairo International Stadium on 29 February.
Sundowns will now have it all to play for in the second leg when the teams square off at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Mosimane remains hopeful that his side can beat Al Ahly, making reference to what happened on 27 September 2019 when they hammered Côte d’Or 11-1 at the same venue to advance to the next round.
‘Congratulations to Ahly, I think they are a good team, big team, lots of pressure and they managed to deal with the pressure,’ Mosimane told his club’s official website.
‘We have to turn the volume up in Pretoria, we have to, we don’t have an option. We have to score in Pretoria. We are professionals we need to keep calm, we need to respect the game. We scored 11 goals in one match, so we can score two goals.’
Mamelodi Sundowns will welcome Al Ahly to the Lucas Moripe Stadium for the Caf Champions League second leg on Saturday, with kick-off set for 3pm.
