Khuliso Mudau capitalised on a free-kick rebound to put Sundowns ahead in the 67th minute, and Mohamed Abdelrahman equalised five minutes later after dispossessing Williams.

Abdelrahman would have normally taken the penalty, but he had been substituted, leaving El Tahir to cover his face with his hands after missing a golden opportunity.
