Al Ahly clinched a record 11th Caf Champions League title after securing a late 1-1 draw with Wydad Casablanca at the Mohammed V Stadium on Sunday evening.
The Red Eagles secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Wydad Casablanca in the first-leg of the Caf Champions League final to give them an advantage going into the second leg.
But Ahly clinched the title after they played out to a 1-1 draw in the second leg when Mohamed Abdelmonem’s 78th minute equaliser cancelled out Yahya Attiat-Allah’s 27th minute opener.
The Egyptian giants have now won the competition 11 times, including 1982, 1987, 2001, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2013, 2019–20, 2020–21 and now in 2022–23.
