The Egyptians held Sundowns to a 1-1 draw on Saturday afternoon which was enough to secure their progression to the semi-final’s courtesy of a 3-1 aggregate victory after they beat the Brazilians 2-0 in the first leg.

Mosimane’s chargers are now out of the Champions League and will look to switch their focus to securing a domestic treble as they face Highlands Park in the quarters of the Nedbank Cup and still remain in the race to win the Absa Premiership.
Mosimane admitted that it was the small margins that ultimately cost his side over the two legs, while he also revealed that Sundowns have begun signing player for next season already and that he is waiting on the club to finalise his new contract.
