Mamelodi Sundowns star Themba Zwane is expecting a fight when they take on Al Ahly in the Caf Champions League but insists they’ll go all out against Pitso Mosimane’s side.
The Brazilians are set to travel to the Cairo International Stadium for their crucial Group A encounter with the Red Eagles on Saturday evening, with kick-off set for 9pm.
Sundowns currently sit in second place in the Group A standings, level on four points with leaders Al-Merrikh after two games, while Ahly occupies third place with just one point.
Zwane knows it won’t be easy to walk away with all three points in Cairo, but insists that Sundowns will play to their strengths hoping for a positive result in Egypt.
“As a team we are happy, we are on top of the log but we know for sure that the job is not done yet, but so far, so good,” Zwane told his club’s official website.
“On Saturday we are playing against Al-Ahly, it’s going to be a fight and as a team, we are looking forward to giving it our all.
“We are going to approach the game by playing to our strength, which is to attack the team, create those chances and take them. Our strength is to move the ball quicker, creating more chances and it’s important for us to manage the game very well knowing that we are playing away.”
Zwane showed his appreciation and gratitude toward the Masandawana supporters: “We are grateful to our supporters, they are always there for us and our job is to make them happy all the time.”
