Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp says he is delighted to see Amakhosi progress in the Caf Confederation Cup following their impressive display against Elgeco Plus.
The Glamour Boys managed to secure a comfortable 3-0 victory in Madagascar, winning the two-legged fixture 6-0 on aggregate to book their place in the playoff round of the African continental competition next year.
Amakhosi will now have to wait until 28 December to find out which team they will be drawn against for a place in the group stages.
Middendorp admits that he was satisfied with his sides dominant performance against Elgeco, while praising Amakhosi for progressing to the next round in the manner they did.
‘It was not an easy game… It was basically the same as in the first leg. We had to strategise and manage the game. We are happy with the result,’ Middendorp told the media.
‘It was a great team effort, we showed the ability to change things around in the second half and I am happy about the achievement of progressing to the next round.
‘We just have to soak this up now and then have some rest. We will take this win as a motivation in our preparation for the next game, which is at home against Mamelodi Sundowns on 5 January.’
