SuperSport United and Sekhukhune United have discovered their opponents for the group stages of the Caf Confederation Cup following the conclusion of the draw in Johannesburg.
The draw, which took place in Johannesburg on Friday and was run by Zambian Afcon winner Rainford Kalaba and former South African star Hlompho Kekana, put the 16 teams into some interesting groups.
Al Hilal from Libya was put in Group A with SuperSport United from South Africa, Future FC from Egypt, and holders USM Alger from Algeria.
The 2019 winner, Egyptian powerhouse Zamalek, has a tough Group B with Sagrada Esperanca from Angola, SOAR from Guinea, and Abu Salim from Libya.
In Group C, Nigeria’s Rivers United play Club Africain from Tunisia, Dreams FC from Ghana, and APC Lobito from Angola.
In Group D, RS Berkane goes up against DC Motema Pembe of the Congo, Stade Malien of Mali, and Sekhukhune United of South Africa.
The group stage matches will start on November 26, and the race to the knockout phase promises to be exciting and dramatic.
With big names in African club football taking part, the CAF Confederation Cup is sure to be exciting from the start.
