Hunt: We should be better

SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt felt his side should have done better against Polokwane City following their exit from the Carling Knockout Cup.

Matsatsantsa suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Rise and Shine in the opening round at the TUT Stadium on Sunday.

A brace by Hlayisi Chauke and goals from Oswin Appollis and Ndamulelo Rodney Maphangule cancelled out Terrence Dzvukamanja’s 88th-minute goal.

Hunt was left disappointed following their exit from the tournament and admits he didn’t expect to concede four goals.

“This game is a missed opportunity, so we’re disappointed,” Hunt said after the game.

“I’m very disappointed, but it is what it is.

“We can’t take the fact that we’re lying third in the league and we finished third last season with the same bunch of players.

“We’re punching way, way above where we should be.

“But you don’t expect a result like this.

“We should be better, far better and weren’t.”
