Cape Town Spurs assistant coach Vasili Manousakis says his side are confident ahead of their Carling Knockout Cup encounter against Orlando Pirates on Friday.

The Urban Warriors are set to travel to the Orlando Stadium for their highly anticipated clash against the Buccaneers in the Carling Knockout Cup tournament.

Manousakis has revealed that his side have been working hard during the international break to prepare for the upcoming fixture as they look to progress to the next round.

“We really looking forward to the Carling Cup match tomorrow night, the boys are amped,” Manousakis told his club’s official website.

“They’re ready and looking forward to the new competition, a very innovative one from the PSL

“It gives the boys an opportunity to go out in a new competition, they aim is to get through to the next round.

“Hopefully we can play a little bit more freely but we’re playing against a formidable opponent in Orlando Pirates.

“We know they are cup specialists having recently won the MTN8, its never easy going to Orlando to play but we’re confident, we’ve been working really hard. We had some good time in the FIFA break to tweak a couple of things and instil some new principles of play.

“After tomorrow night’s match, we should have a good indication of how much we progressed over the last two and a half weeks since the changes in coaching staff.”
