Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena admits that TS Galaxy has got “strong from last season” and is expecting a tough clash against the Rockets in the Carling Knockout Cup.
The Brazilians will take on Galaxy in the Carling Knockout Cup round of 16 after the fixtures were confirmed at the launch in Hyde Park on Tuesday.
The competition will now replace the Telkom Knockout Cup but will have the same format which features all 16 teams in the top flight.
Mokwena says his side have been working hard to prepare for this fixture but knows it will not be easy to defeat the Rockets at home.
“It would have been difficult with any other opponent, so we take it. TS Galaxy are a very good team, well structured and are a much stronger than last season,” Mokwena told his club’s official website.
“They did some incredible work during the transfer period, and they have a very good coach with a very strong technical team. We are looking forward to the game. It’s a cup game and one we have to enjoy once again.”
